Newmarket residents Ryan and Brennish perform a cajun song on accordion and fiddle. Besides fiddles, the Thomsons perform on banjo, accordion, mandolin, flute, tin whistle, Irish flute, jaw harp, wooden spoons, rhythm bones, foot percussion, cajun triangle, rub board, and more. Brennish is 13 years old. His father Ryan teaches fiddling and folk music. Fiddling Thomsons in “Invisible Children” benefit, Part 2, fiddles, cajun accordion, Irish whistle
Thomson’s web site – http://www.captainfiddle.com Recorded at UKnight for Peace Concert, November 6, 2009, in Berwick, Maine. Ryan and Brennish Thomson contributed their music to this fund raising event to benefit Invisible Children, a cause dedicated to helping the child soldiers of Northern Uganda, Africa. Ryan and Brennish Thomson(12 years old in this video) perform 4 selections in this Part 2 segment – Egans Polka/Rattling Bog Kerry Polkas on fiddle and pennywhistle, Jambalaya on accordion and fiddle, and then Lake Arthur Stomp and Ragtime Annie on twin fiddles. The volunteer camera operator accidently pushed a button on the camera that removed the natural colors from the scene. But the music lives on! John Whelan on Button Accordion
Here we present John Whelan, the 1983 All-Ireland Senior button accordion champion playing three reels: “The Killavil”, “The High Reel” and “The Fermoy Lasses”. Now living in Milford, Connecticut, USA, John comes originally from Luton, England. This music was recorded at the Comhaltas North American Convention in Boston in 2003.
