Nuala Hehir on Irish accordion and Liz Gaughan on fiddle

A set of jigs from button accordion player Nuala Hehir from Ennis, Co. Clare and fiddle player Liz Gaughan, originally from Manchester, England and now living in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. They learned the first tune from Clare concertina player Gearóid O’Halloran and they associate the second with the late Joe Liddy, fiddle player and composer from Co. Leitrim.

“Pe?aver” diatonic button accordion

http://accordionmaniac.co.nr – I played this “Pecaver” brand accordion at the Slovenian Club Geelong (where it is kept), and is over 50 years old (nobody knows its exact age). Apparently, a long long time ago this accordion was owned by Lojze Slak. The fourth row of buttons seem completely out of tune, and the bellows possibly have a leak somewhere, but the accordion still sounds good!

Damien Mullane on Irish Button Accordion
