lyrics:

Die schwarze Krähe
©Artpurg 2003/ Deutsche ubersetzung Oldrik W.Scholz

Eine schwarze Krähe, saß auf ‘nem Zaun
Ihr Krächzen laut — was für ein Grau’n!
Seine Frau der Bauer fragt,
ob sie auch dieses Krächzen plagt.
He he, die schwarze Krähe

Liebe Frau, geh hin zum Stall.
Ich hab genug, ein für allemal
Hol mir schnell die Flinte raus!
Ich blas’ dem Biest die Lichter aus!
He, he, die schwarze Krähe

Der Bauer schlich hinaus aufs Feld.
Sie hat ihn lang genug gequält.
Er schrie: Du Wrack, so sitz doch still!
Ich seh’ nicht gut ohne meine Brill’
He, he, wo ist die Brill’?

Ein lauter Knall, zerbroch’nes Glas,
Ein Riesenloch, wo das Fenster saß.
Die Kugel schlug grad’ in den Bau
und traf die arme Bauersfrau
He he, die arme Frau

All der Staub sank leise hin.
Die Bauersfrau lag still darin.
Was tat der dumme Bauer dann?
Nahm sich ‘nen Strick; erhängt’ sich dran.
He he, der arme Mann

Der Doktor kam so schnell es geht.
Doch wie so oft war’s schon zu spät.
Der Pfarrer kam, ein echter Held
Sprach ein Gebet und wünschte Geld
He he, die schwarze Krähe

Es ist noch Zeit für die Moral,
Denn sonst passiert so was noch mal
Überm Friedhof kreist sie allezeit,
Die alte Krähe, und sie schreit
He he, die schwarze Krähe

Roland V-Accordion FR-2 (Played by Dominique Paats)

This is the new Roland Fr-2!! The newest and smallest of the FR series V-Accordions are the FR-2 (model with piano type keyboard) and the FR-2B (model with button keyboard). The FR-2/2B was developed for live performers as well as hobby musicians, beginners and young people.

Beaumont Rag – Cajun Accordion – Saulieu 2009

While waiting for the train from Liernais to Saulieu, France; a hommage to the nearby village of Beamont. Here’s an interpretation of a well known Bluegrass fiddle tune on a Cajun accordion. Cajun Accordion (KNIRI TUNING) Hohner One Row, Melodeon, Alternate Tuning “Blues Oergeli”

The accordion (Hohner 1 Row 114 C) shown in the video,
has a special circular tuning “in the circle of 5th”, *Kniri Tuning 221*
I came up with some alternative tunings for diatonic Accordions. The one row Cajun-Accordions do usually have the ‘Richter’ tuning.
I was looking for an easier way to play the Blues with the common three chords (C, F and G7 in the key of C). After playing around for some time I found a continuous mathematical scale (“221″ Scale) for diatonic Instruments with 10 Buttons. This means that the notes do always have the same steps(221221221221…..2=wholetone, 1=halftone) This allows to play on the same Instrument 5 different Major and Minor scales and 16 different triads, which are related/similar to the circle of fifths.

A more detailed description of this alternate accordion tunig system can be found at

http://www.kniri.ch/bluesaccordion.aspx

Once upon a time there was a tavern
Where we used to raise a glass or two
Remember how we laughed away the hours
And think of all the great things we would DO
Chorus:

Those were the days, my friend
We thought they’d never end
We’d sing and dance forever and a day
We’d live the life we choose
We’d fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way
La la la la la la
La la la la la la

Then the busy years went rushing by us
We lost our starry notions on the way
If by chance I’d see you in the tavern
We’d smile at one another and we’d say

Those were the days, my friend
We thought they’d never end
We’d sing and dance forever and a day
We’d live the life we choose
We’d fight and never lose
Those were the days
Oh, yes, those were the days
La la la la la la
La la la la la la

Just tonight I stood before the tavern
Nothing seemed the way it used to be
In the glass I saw a strange reflection
Was that lonely woman really me?

Those were the days, my friend
We thought they’d never end
We’d sing and dance forever and a day
We’d live the life we choose
We’d fight and never lose
Those were the days
Oh, yes, those were the days
La la la la la la
La la la la la la

Through the door there came familiar laughter
I saw your face and heard you call my name
Oh, my friend, we’re older but no wiser
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same…

Those were the days, my friend
We thought they’d never end
We’d sing and dance forever and a day
We’d live the life we choose
We’d fight and never lose
Those were the days
Oh, yes, those were the days
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
