Pipe Organ – Toccata in D Minor

Johann Sebastian Bach’s famous “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor” performed on the pipe organ by me.
(However, I can only play the Toccata. The Fugue is mind-boggling :S)

I’m pretty sure that in some countries it’s considered a felony to be able to play a pipe organ and not perform this song at least once. I mean, it’s like the pipe organ’s trademark song!

Also, be reasonable in judging this. I haven’t had one day of organ lessons in my life, and this is probably only my fifth time playing the Toccata on an actual organ (played it on the piano all the other times), so it’s not the best performance you’re ever going to see.
If I get any better at it later, I may reupload it.

…hmmmm?! In 10 months time I’ve only uploaded 3 accordion videos?!
THAT HAS TO CHANGE, AND OH BY GEE BY GOSH BY GUM BY JOVE IT WILL!

Duration : 0:2:50

Not to be mean or anything, but i think you move to much when you play. And when you press down the pedal, you shall not use the whole leg, only the foot.

But otherwise it’s not so bad.

@RobtheKappelmeister Wow. I guess you know your organs :)

Yes, it is a Rodgers combination organ (can’t remember the exact model number, seem to remember it was printed on the side of the keychest).

And thanks for the suggestion! Nobody really plays the organ except at graduations and masses, so I don’t know if it’ll be a high priority for them though ;)

  • RobtheKappelmeister:

    Hey, sounds good. …
Hey, sounds good. Is this a Rodgers? Looks like a large Rodgers combination organ…the local Rodgers guy, or whoever tunes organs there needs to tune the upper range stops like the 2′ and mixture stops…because….theyre waaaay off. Just giving a suggestion. ;)
