film where 4 men reach safety and come upon a cajun party? do you know it.?
its a bit like deliverance – as far as i can remember these friends or they could be a platoon of soldiers are out in the wilds – they get involved with bad people – cant remember if they actually are ever caught by these guys but they are trying to escape or outrun them for most of the film – some of the goodys die but some stumble upon a country party. all these people at the party are singing – its like french cajun music or like the music in deliverance – IVe never been able to track it down – does anyone know what this kind of music is called. it was like very harsh folk singing but beautiful too.

Can anyone recommend good literature from Creole and Cajun culture?
I’m doing research for a book and I want to get a real sense of the culture, the people, the dialect. Can you recommend some literary works as well as maybe music, or movies? The more authentic and close to the source, the better.
It would also be great if it would be children focused.
To be honest, we are really barely literate. You’re talking about some people who are very… "country." We have made almost no mark on the landscape of American culture. There’s some literature ABOUT us though– try Evangeline or something.

Father's Day (Part One of Three)
I shot this 'documentary' with one camera in one three hour period a few years ago with the intention of playing/learning digital editing. It's bumpy in places but if you like cowboys, horses, Cajun music, and fellowship and lots of animals you might check it out…..these are my friends where I live (most of the time) in Agua Dulce, California.
